If you are unable to print out the materials, we will be handing them out at our Open House. Theses materials will be available at the school in the Main Office, from 9am to 2pm, Mondays through Fridays.

U.S. News has just launched its second annual list of America’s Best High Schools. The analysis of more than 21,000 public high schools in 48 states is available here and on newsstands as of December 8 in the magazine issue dated Dec. 15-22, 2008.

Subject: There are an estimated two million internally displaced people
(IDPs) in Darfur, including 250,000 who have fled fighting in the past six months. Eastern Chad hosts 230,000 Sudanese refugees from Darfur in 12UNHCR camps. There are also 20,000 Chadian refugees who have fled to Darfurfollowing insecurity in border areas of their homeland over the past year. Conflict and insecurity in Darfur are the main challenges for IDPs,
refugees and the aid workers helping them. In recent months, 12 aid workers
have been killed in Darfur.

Juniors and seniors can apply to Bank of America’s student leaders program. This program is for students who demonstrate a clear interest in tackling the crucial issues facing their communities. Program participants will attend a series of leadership training and community activities and complete a paid internship this summer.
